Organized by Resort World Genting, Ultraman LIVE in Genting 2015 promised to be a unique and exciting presentation unlike any other, and it delivered. Featuring Ultraman Zero as the lead, the show was performed in English and had a customized but simple storyline made specially for audiences in Malaysia (and maybe Singapore). The show also featured the original Ultraman, Ultra Seven, Ultraman Taro, Ultraman Tiga, Ultraman Cosmos, Ultraman Mebius and Ultraman Ginga.

Without giving away any story details away, we strongly recommend you to make a trip up to Genting for the enjoyable experience, which featured several up close audience interactions with both the heroes and villains, enhancing the atmosphere which was already quite a spectacle with the well-choreographed lighting, sound and wireworks.

Instead of saying this is a great show for the kids, we would say that this is one for the family, especially with the selection of the Ultramen for this show which we thought was very well chosen.

The good mix of Showa and Heisei Ultramen meant that audiences of any age would be able to identify with at least two Ultramen characters featured in this show.

Fans will be pleased to know that there are two photo-taking sessions with the Ultramen; pre-show and post-show. Photo-booth tickets can be bought at RM25 each and your photograph will be placed in a nicely designed frame too!

For a VIP ticket at RM88 (SGD32.90), you will get a free Ultraman Projector Watch which is definitely an item every kid would love. Outside the hall, a small merchandise booth provided sales of commemorative items like keychains (we were told only 10 sets are sold per day), magnets and many more.

Credits has to be given to all the Ultramen suit actors as well as the monsters suit actors for delivering an exciting and engaging show which ran for almost 90 minutes. All action sequences were totally what you would have seen on television all these years and it was a genuine treat for anyone who has been an Ultraman fan.

We would like to give a special mention to the suit actor of Ultraman Zero (we did not ask for his name!) who nailed the characteristics and behavior of the character. We were also told that the actor did not remove his mask for breaks until after the show and photo-taking session! Kudos to him for his dedication!

Lastly, we would like to give a thumbs up to the Resort World Genting management for arranging extra rows of seats for the show on Saturday (the shows were soldout!). The manager who took to the stage before the show was quoted as saying that the decision was made so as not to disappoint many kids who did not manage to buy their tickets in advance, and to make sure they get to enjoy the show as well. This totally fits with one of the most prominent themes of Ultramen that children are the future and should always be encouraged to pursue their dreams!

This show will run until 29 March 2015 at Resort World Genting so don”t wait any longer! More information on the tickets can be found here.
