tokuAsia Day Message
This year has been a hard and tough year for many people, but it is also a year where the people of tokuAsia have matured and took on new responsibilities which they have never done before in their lives.
We took on our first major film project, aptly titled Initiation, earlier this year, and started production in the third quarter of the year. It was not easy for us to handle this project, as most of us have never been involved in any form of film production of such a scale and intensity before. Previously, we only worked with a small entry-level camcorder, but this time, we have a full professional high definition camera setup complete with audio recording equipment rented to us by the Management Development Institute of Singapore.
I am proud to say every personnel involved worked their way through and did not shy away from difficulties presented to them. Kudos to all of them.
Also, our film would not be successful without support and sponsors, who have contributed in several forms to enable us to kickstart our production. MDIS, our technical sponsor, and also EBChip Asia Pte Ltd, AMAC Creative Pte Ltd, Hock Seng Choon Fishball Noodles, Poise Image International, Miss Gan Pinpin and Miss Gan Qingqing, and not forgetting friends and family members of our production team, for their contribution and support rendered towards our film. Thank you all very much.
In addition, we welcome several new members who have joined our family and took the initiative to help promote the community. I would like to formally welcome to Andric (tachidric) and Shaun (ZenoPhantom) who have now started their own podcast program talking about Tokusatsu and several other tokuAsia-related topics.
It felt like just yesterday when tokuAsia’s 3rd Anniversary Celebrations had come and went, but in just a blink of the eye, another year has passed and now we are into our fourth year.
However, we are still young.
Four years may seem like a long time, but on hindsight, it is only a small step along the journey to realize our dreams. It will still carry on nonetheless, and it will never end.
Here, we encourage people to pursue their dreams, whatever they may be, to do what they really want to do. We only have one lifetime, and sometimes in life, we only have that one chance to do something, so why not make the most out of it when we have the energy to do it?
Come December, tokuAsia will be partnering with Custom Workz as an exclusive partner to participate in the EOY 2009. Details are being discussed, and more information will be released along the way. It will surely be a big step in our efforts to promote the community and the Tokusatsu genre in Singapore.
Once again, I would like to thank everyone who had contributed their efforts. Thank you.
Happy 4th Anniversary to tokuAsia.
