The Name

tokuAsia is a unique brandname associated with several aspects related to the company’s vision to spearhead the development of Tokusatsu in Singapore.

As of June 2009, tokuAsia has been a registered business entity in the Republic of Singapore, and our Registration Number is 53171168D.

The Logo

The current logo, an extension of the brandname, was designed in November 2008 by Basil Yeo, and unveiled just in time for the 3rd Anniversary celebrations.

Since then, the logo has become a familiar sight with the local Tokusatsu community, and is featured prominently on the left chest of the tokuAsia polo T-shirts.

The Brands

Previously meant to share updates on the Tokusatsu world and tokuAsia activities, tokuAsia.com has been reborn as a dedicated and informative Tokusatsu editorial and reviews site. tokuAsia ForumSingapore’s Premier Tokusatsu Community. The longest-running aspect of tokuAsia, the forum has been through many revisions and hosting changes throughout the first years before things settled down into the way it is today.

tokuAsia Pictures – Started out in mid-2008 as tokuAsia Productions with two fanfictions turned into videos, DEKARANGER and Masked Rider REBIRTH. Productions soon took a turn for original and our current aim is to produce entertaining short films which span all genres possible, not just Tokusatsu.

As of March 19th 2012, tokuAsia Pictures formally replaced tokuAsia Productions which had been a channel for various hobby projects under the group name since 2008. Pictures will be a primarily for-profit entity which will be able to take up a wide spectrum of projects ranging from short films to corporate videos to TV commercials, and more. However, we still do aim to produce Singapore’s first real Tokusatsu programme in the future.

tokuAsiaTV – Started in 2008 as a YouTube channel for tokuAsia Productions’ work. We have recently expanded this to include video coverage of events like the Singapore Toy Games & Comic Convention. tokuAsiaTV is also a portfolio for our moving visual capabilities.
